Structured Data Tools

Structured Data Tools

There are TONS of structured data tools out there, some of them are great, some of them not so much.

This post will be updated often as I find more great tools that will help you write, learn, test and implement structured data on your website.

Test, test and test again. I always test all of our structured data with 3 different tools, to make sure it validates in each one, as every tool has slightly different criteria.

Take a look at the best structured data tools below:

Testing / Validation Tools

There are three main structured data testers that I use:

  • Google Rich Results
  • Schema.org
  • Classy Schema

If you want to appear for rich results / SERP features, then you need to make sure that your code validates with Google’s Rich Results tester. If there are any errors, then you’ll need to fix them, as Google is very unlikely to use your code if it does not validate.

Schema.org is great for initial testing, just to make sure that everything is ok.

Classy Schema is one of the best testing tools, as not only does it pick up little things that Schema.org’s tester misses, it also has an amazing visualisation tool which shows you how everything is all connected together. This is fantastic for visualising entities and how your structured data fits together with each other.

Writing Tools

Writing structured data can be difficult and also tiresome.

There’s some automatic writing tools out there, but none of them even come close to the quality of being able to write it yourself. Some tools that are able to write basic schema include:

  • A
  • B

Visualisation Tools

I’ve been searching for a really good visualisation tool for a while now. I still use Classy Schema every single day, as it’s by far the best I’ve found so far. However, there are also these tools you could consider:

  • A
  • B

Other Tools

Here’s some other tools that don’t fit into the categories above:

  • A
  • B

If you find any other great structured data tools, or you have a tool that you’d like me to try out, please get in touch.
